Four more sleeps

We are super excited. I'm sure you are too. Just some info for everyone, in case you don't know what's happening!

Oh! Fest is happening THIS WEEKEND. It starts on Friday night APK with a launch party. This event is 19+ and pay what you can. It's also sponsored by Mill St. so there will be some tasty brews going around.

The next day is when the craziness really kicks in. Music will be happening on TWO outdoor stages right on Dundas St. Car Free Festival will be closing down the street and there will be a stage at Dundas and Richmond and another at Dundas and Wellington.

On Saturday NIGHT there is an after party at Call the Office. This show is all ages and pay what you can.

Sunday the fun on the street continues.. and then it's all over at 8:30pm.

Make sure you check out the mercy tent run by Grooves Records and the information booth will have Oh! Fest pins and t-shirts for sale.

We can't wait to see you this weekend. Check out the FULL schedule here

More local bands added?!

We just added Tournament!, The Rheostats and Fairlane to our lineup.

Tournament! is actually amazing. One of London's newer rock power houses fronted by Matt Werm. (Of Salmonblaster! Do you guys remember Salmonblaster? No? Well they were on Much Music back when we all thought Much Music was cool.) Heavier than your parents' old sofa bed, these guys also manage to get stuck in your head for days, if not weeks afterwards. They'll be rocking out at 3:30pm on Saturday on the Jones Soda Stage.

We've really been digging this track off their new album

The Rheostats
The Rheostats drum up memories of Wilco, Elliot Smith and throw in some Weezer for good measure. Thoughtful lyrics, catchy hooks and babes galore. Featuring a couple of those foxy Wild Domestic boys backing up crooning frontman John Pilat. They'll be breaking hearts at 2:30, Saturday Sept 17 on the Jones Soda Stage.

Fairlane are another new addition to London's growing folk scene. Catch some rootsy numbers for the first act of the day on Sunday, Sept 18 on the Jones Soda Stage at 1:30. http://www.myspace.com/londonfairlane

New Additions! Lido Pimienta and Grey Kingdom

Lido Pimienta will be playing the opening night party at APK Live on September 16th to kick off Oh! Fest. A colossal mix of spanish rhythm and drum machine, she's sure to get you dancing. And if she doesn't, she'll probably yell at you from the stage. Check out her song on the Oh! Compilation

Grey Kingdom, of Dine Alone Records, is set to play Sunday afternoon downtown. Half singer-songwriter, half story teller, Spencer Burton (of Attack and Black) weaves his sad songs between hilarious and epic anecdotes. Get comfy, it's story time.

Featured Artist: Sick Friend

If you're new to London, you may not remember Sick Friend. They've been living in Montreal for the last few years, but have strong ties to London. We were sad to see them go, but couldn't be more thrilled with the music they've been putting out since moving to Montreal. Check out their brand new album OUT TODAY on bandcamp!
