Volunteer Crews:

PRE-FESTIVAL Position: Western/Fanshawe Street Teams
Do you go to Western or Fanshawe? We want you! We want you to promote the festival at your school. We will give you stacks of handbills, and you will give them to everyone you know, and some people who you don’t know. We all want Oh! Fest to be a success, and you can make it happen. Get the word out. Word.

Hours: Pre-festival. September 3-16.

Information/Oh! Fest Merch Booth
The information booth is the epicenter of Oh! Fest. You are the face of Oh! Fest! Audience members, performers and volunteers alike will come here to find out about when and where everything is happening. You’ll be handing out programs, answering questions, and spreading the Oh! Fest love all weekend. Performer and volunteer check in will be located here as well. You’ll be making sure the artists know where the stages, green room and venues are. Don’t worry though, we’ll let you know all the info before you start your shift. Some cash handling may be required.

Hours: 6 hours total. Broken up in 2-3 shifts during the festival. Volunteers will be scheduled any time between noon-11pm Saturday or noon-9pm Sunday.

Evening Merch Table (19+ Friday, any age Saturday)
Everyone likes hanging out at the merch table! On Friday night at APK Live and Saturday night at Call the Office, we need some people to man the merch tables. You’ll be responsible for selling merchandise the bands have for sale, making change and keeping the table beautiful. Are you good with cash? Are you friendly and easy to talk to? This might be the place for you.

Hours: 6 hours total. Rotating all night at one of two venues. 10pm till end of show.

Hospitality

Keep the musicians happy! They’re going to be happy to begin with.. they get to play Oh! Fest. But, we want to make sure they’re fed and watered. You’ll be working in the green room and possibly at one of the out door stages. Many bottles of water will be slung, snacks will be snacked and the occasional towel will be fetched.

Hours: 6 hours. 2-3 hour shifts over 3 days.

Pre/Post-Tech Crew
Help build the festival from the ground up. Those stages aren’t going to build themselves. If you want to really see how it’s done AND you don’t want to miss any of the bands, join this crew! You don’t need to be a body builder, but there will definitely be some lifting.

Hours: 10 hours total. Saturday morning 9am-noon, Sunday night. 9pm till the job is done.

Equipment Stage HandsIf you want to be right in the action and you’re comfortable lifting amps and musical instruments, this is the position for you. You will be helping musicians and sound techs get equipment on and off stage during the show.

Hours: 6 hours total. Shifts will be any time from 3pm-11pm Saturday or 12pm-9pm Sunday.

Stage Managers (19+ job)
Are you organized? Can you take direction as well as give it? We need some volunteers with experience working in entertainment. Your responsibilities will include keeping your stage on schedule as well as communicating with sound technicians, performers, volunteers and festival organizers. You need to make sure performers, MCs, and sound technicians know where they’re supposed to be and when. You will help the whole festival fun smoothly. You will also have a group of volunteers to help move equipment on and off stage. When emailing, please let us know why you think you’re the person for this job!

Hours: 10 hours over three days. 3-5 hour shifts. Most shifts will be on Saturday and Sunday.

Fund Raising Team
If you're outgoing and friendly, we'd love to have you on our fund raising team. Your job is to walk around the festival and collect donations from patrons. Don't worry, we know you're not telemarketers, you don't have to be pushy and we won't set goals. Just remind festival-goers that though the festival is free, there are a lot of volunteers and sponsors that make it possible. Oh! Fest wouldn't survive without the donations of local businesses and private citizens.

Hours: 6 hours over 3 days. You could be working on the street during the day or in venues at night.
